The renovations to ICMH’s main office on Skinner Street has received an award at the 25th annual Commercial Building Awards gala.  We won in the Community Renovations category.

ICMH would like to thank architect Joe Newell, our contractors, donors, and staff, and community supporters, who made this very necessary renovation not only possible, but very successful.

ICMH Professional Development Series – Evidence-based Social Skills Training

ICMH is proud to present the latest in our Professional Development Series

Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills (PEERS) is an evidence-based practice for teaching individuals social skills to individuals recovering from mental illness.

 Learn about the research, techniques, and philosophy behind friendships and intimate relationships using our youth centred psychosocial rehabilitation approach.

Instructor Pam Lewis (BA, BSN) is the Director of Community Program Development at Island Community Mental Health. She has worked in the mental health field for over 13 years. Pam is a certified instructor for PEERS, a Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills.

She has also developed an array of programs for the Young Adult Stream at ICMH using creativity, mindfulness and CBT techniques.

Congratulations to Monique Sekhon and her team of dedicated volunteers on their successful Care 2 Share Community Mental Health Awareness event on August 20th.  Speakers, Music, Information tables, and Performances greeted the many attendees that Saturday.

Come join us for a 6 week class that could be another step on your path to recovery

Mindful Warrior Program – a Path to Martial Wellness

We will be exploring mindfulness, meditation, lifestyle habits, assertiveness, basic Cognitive Behaviour Therapy techniques and how to regulate our emotions through the practice of martial arts.

Monday and Wednesday 1:30-2:30 STARTING MARCH 21st

This is open to people 19-35

This class will be taught at The Warrior Martial Wellness Centre  – #1- 3946 Quadra St

This class will be taught by Ken Marchetaler – 5th degree Black Belt with 25 years experience
